A bail conversation often starts with “How much?” Nevada’s custody-review process considers more than a number.
Community ties matter
NRS 178.4853 requires courts reviewing custody status to consider factors including length of residence, employment history, and relationships with family and close friends.
Court history matters too
The statute also includes prior criminal history, including records of appearing or failing to appear after release. Courts consider safety risks and other factors relevant to whether a person will appear.
Every situation is individual
These factors do not guarantee release or a particular bail amount. Ask your attorney about how the law applies to the case. A bail agent can explain the bond process and the agreement’s requirements.
